Ungura falls eh? Sounds good..

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Uncle, I remember coming here last time and losing my toe ring(kaal ungura), what is the name of this falls?"

"Well, it is in my backyard. Name? Err.. Hmm.."

"Wait, I have an interesting name, ಉಂಗುರಾ ಜಲಪಾತ (UNGURA FALLS)"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And that's it folks, the moment in history books.................. to never be remembered again!

Well, the feeling to sit under the waterfall and then to name it was something special. Before I shower you with the description it is advisable to have a look at the waterfall and get to know the humongous(not) power of the nature.

Oh yeah, that is exactly how big the blog is going to be

This private, use-all-you-want-and-for-how-long-you-want backyard falls has been there from the time I was born and probably decades before my grandfather moved into that place. It is located in a village called Mala - Karkala taluk, Udupi district in Karnataka. It is around 362 kms from Bangalore and takes about 6-7 hours with frequent stops. Since it is quite near to the Kudremukh mountain range, this is just one of the many beautiful natural waterfall within the forest. I have been lucky to enjoy nature's best without browsing through internet or calling travel agents for a fine getaway instead I just visit my grandparents' place. But, as you would already know maybe in a different scenario (I'm not trying to be poetic but that sentence just rhymed, YAY!), "when you grow in it, you fail to realize how great it is"

The person(at the back) who taught me what AQUAPHILE literally meant

My better half, Archana. She just LOVES water and the other thing she loves(obviously other than shopping, shoes, purse, travelling, me etc.,) is naming! Yup, you heard me right. Our pet, a retriever has around 10 names and in the face of it this waterfall had no chance WHATSOEVER. She was destined to name it and my uncle forced to accept!

                         The route to Ungura falls

                   Uncle(dad's brother) posing with wifey

Sathyu kakka (Sathish uncle) who takes care and owns that place(above) now, is all fun! He took us around with detailed description of every rock or tree which have fun facts. Best guide one could ask for.

The water was crystal clear and the climate heavenly with trees covering most of the sky, only a snake(she is scared) or a tiger(who the hell is not scared?) could have moved us out of that place. It took us exactly 15 minutes to reach that destination from my uncle's house. We stayed in the water speechless for an hour, taking in all that nature could give us and left that beautiful spot with our souls content.

Finally, for all the snake lovers, on the way back I found this!
